New FL2 owner..got a 2007 recently, but no armrests. I've read loads on the central cubby rest and wood company, however is there an armrest that fits to the seat directly?. If so, who best be buy from..

no don't think there is unless you buy some LR ones, strip the seats down and IIRC do some welding to the seat frame.

the Wood Co ones are really good in fairness, and give you more storage. Takes about 5 mins to fit one

It kind of depends how handy you are at DIY. There are universal type armrests available on Ebay that you could fit yourself or get hold of original Freelander , Range Rover or similar and fit these. You must make sure if buying originals 2nd hand that they come with the hinge bracket part as most do not. They are a little fiddly to fit but not that bad. There are already holes in the metal part of the seat back rest that you should be able to use or at worse a new hole might need to be drilled and the armrest can then be bolted on. Armrests are a must have for me and I missed them when I sold my Freelander and bought a DS. The photo below shows VW T5 armrests that I fitted to mine. They can be bough new on Ebay but are not that cheap! The cubby box type are an easier cheaper solution if you don`t like the thought of having to remove (in part anyway) the seat back cover and then cut a hole in it for the armrest bracket to go through! Good luck whatever you decide!

personally id still go for the Wood Co armrest, even as an addition to the folding armrests they are good to have. Or maybe source some front seats with armrests from Ebay or a breakers and swap the seats out as a whole

I can feel a hole in the seat behind the padding so thought there might be an OEM part..
