jack up control arm for drop link replacement?

Do you need to hold the lower control arm in the 'road position' when the car is jacked up to change the drop links or can you do it with the control arm lower than usual while it's jackled up?

can you do it on the ground without the wheel off?

cheers

Andy,

The drop link is connected to the anti sway bar or anti roll bar (if you prefer to call it that) correct?

If that is the right link then the suspension on both sides of the vehicle needs to be at the same height.

If you lift only one side then the link will be under tension on the lifted side and very difficult to remove.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Take care

Paul

Thanks,

Just done all 4 drop links this evening and had to use a 2nd jack under the tie rod to lift the suspension back level as you said. Easy enough to do once if was level.

Cheers
