If you are going to remove the Haldex you should give it a good clean inside. Remove the clutch plates, clean them all individually as well as the pump. A new filter will also be required.

I did mine recently on the driveway using a set of drive up ramps. Removed the propshaft, unbolted and removed the haldex as a complete unit, removed the pump and cleaned its filter and replaced the main haldex filter, new O ring and back in and refilled with Haldex oil, cost including oil, filter and o ring was about £50.

Got my local independant to drill and tap the rear diff - much easier in future. Most places should be used to sucking out a diff if you didn't want to fit a drain hole...

Had mine done at Bell engineering recently, if you are within a reasonable driving distance it's worth getting Austin to do it, poetry in motion. |

Nope didn't need to, just the prop shaft which is conveniently supported by the exhaust when you lower it down.
