The FL2 has gradient/tilt sensing. and should not roll immediately on foot brake release, when on a hill.

Thanks very much for these useful replies, it will be a lot easier not using my EHB at traffic lights & such I think. |

If you have auto gearbox, you don't really need to use a handbrake ever. It does annoy drivers behind you in stationary traffic at night though using footbrake. |

A strange reply to an EPB specific question from somebody with a manual FL2 with an EPB. |

Yeah Reggie that baffled me too, mine is manual & the brake lights bothering folk behind is the reason I used the handbrake at lights. |

I was always taught to use the handbrake when at standstill. If you’re sat with your foot on the brake and you are rear ended you’ll probably lift your foot and be shunted into a vehicle in front. |

A handbrake will not stop your car hitting the car in front if shunted from the rear.

I agree, the original post about the Handbrake is most likely the hill assist, used to cause havoc with a caravan on the rear on a steep hill. just need to wait a fraction longer
