Booty size

Hello,
I am considering a Freelander 2 as a second car to our Disco 4. As I have 4 dogs and use all of the boot for dog crates I have tried to find on the web the measurements of the boot with rear seats folded down, length and width at the narrowest point. I also need to know if the rear seat folds completely flat. As I am in Sweden I donĀ“t have a Freelander 2 close to me right now. Does anyone have the measurements or maybe can take a measure for me?

Thanks,
Peter

width at narrowest point 39" or 99cm basically between the rear strut mounts/inner wheel arches.
Length 62-63" or 157cm-160cm dependent of how far forward/back the front seats are.

I have seen you can get an extension mat to match the load space mat, which then covers the folded down seats.

sorry for poor quality of photo. I understand this mat was made for the LR2 Commercial (factory build)

The seat backs are almost flat when down & are absolutely flat if you take out the head rests. If the seat bases are in the way just unscrew them with a star key, T40 from memory! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I find the boot space with the seats down is actually better (and much easier to use) than my old Disco 2 and it's much easier to fold / raise them. As I very rarely have people in the back I've removed the headrests and store them in the garage for use if required. Ian.

How long would the loading area be with seat bases removed?

Thanks,
Peter
