saggy rear shocks or broken springs?

My Fl2 feels low at the rear and is quite 'soggy' in corners. after driving a hire transit van I got back in mine and though whoa thats bad Sad

Measured the wheel arch heights today and both fronts are 84 cm off the ground, with the rears 83 and 82 cm off the ground. It looks a bit down at the back too.

Is it likely to be dead shocks (they dont feel too bouncy on speed bumps) or broken springs, or both?

Its a 64 plate with later suspension, looking on ECP website its about 175 quid per shock, plus springs and mounts etc. Any ideas on where to get better prices or is that about right?

Are rear shocks a driveway job? I've done shocks on older cars before with basic 2wd suspension. Is there anything about the Fl2 suspension that makes the rear shocks harder to do?

cheers

When I used to get out of my FL2 and into my Golf, it felt like I was in a go-kart. A transit has commercial suspension where comfort is not the priority. A broken spring will be obvious to see. Shock absorbers do not affect the ride height. The differing heights at the back could be down to tyres/pressures, the camber of the road (were you measuring it on dead level ground) or even the amount of fuel in the tank. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

It was parked slightly downhill to the rear when measured, bit of stuff in the back but not heavy.

Checked again today with the front slightly downhill and no major difference.

Are advanced factors good, never used em before?

Recently got a pair of rear Bilstein shocks for around £186 from Eurocarparts , I always try to stick to a recognised now brand after I had issues with some Britpart rear shockers on my previous Fl2 .
