The tail pipe is stainless , the whole exhaust , I believe is coated steel( might be aluminium ) . My FL2 is now 11 years old and the exhaust at 65,000 miles ( touch wood ) is fine, with only one of the protection shields being replaced in 91/2 years of ownership . As comments above there doesn’t seem to be much point in putting £2000 performance exhaust on a diesel suv . It’s dead money with zero real world benefit . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
