Wow Ledzep! I guess you'll have built a very strong upper leg muscle (vastus lateralis). No need for gym mate! |

I occasionally get the "non-start" when pressing the button, and the "traction reduced " message, and have had the trip etc. reset situation just once in 4000miles. The dealer service department rang me this morning, checking on something that I put on the Land Rover questionnaire (They got upset when asking "How could we do better?" and I wrote "Be cheaper, quicker and respond sooner!"). I asked if there were any notices or software updates to which she replied, after checking with the head technician (Don`t they employ mechanics anymore?) "Yes, there are 2 software updated and they should help with the problem" So it is booked in next Monday to be upgraded - watch this space to see if it is any improvement - or, if experience is anything to go by, to see what extra faults the new software can introduce"" - Cynical, ME!!!

Well it went in 3 days ago - came back with all the trip functions having reset (so they did something!) The starting is definitely better, with no error messages since. I only need to touch and release the button now for it to start. As an aside, has everyone noticed that the length of time you press the button for is irrevant to the starting procedure - I can have pressed and released the button before the starter motor moves. The button obviously tells a computer to start the engine.

Although you guys are all a friendly welcoming bunch, I have to say that in the 5 or so weeks/1500 miles I've owned my FL2, I've always felt a bit of an "outsider". That was until Sunday, when I'm proud to say I had my first ever non-start/Reduced Traction/trip computer reset. Now I'm a REAL Freelander 2 owner. |

Welcome to the dark side Nightfox.... Like the rest of us you must have read all the hype about how many miles the development cars were driven, the torturous conditions they were driven in and how highly developed all the systems were. Well now you live in the real world, but I’m sure whatever niggles you experience be they traction warnings, fail to start, radio freeze ups and trip resets, like the rest of us you’ll forgive the car because its so much fun to drive!!! |
