I was just wondering what state some of the cars on forecourts will be in after the lock down? I have been on the look out for a petrol DS over the last few months and kept an eye on the approved used stock. There are cars that have been sitting there since last autumn due to the slow down in the car market and this could go on for months. For a start the batteries will be suspect since Lead Acid batteries don't appreciate long periods of discharge, handbrake pads will rusted on to the discs. Some dealers are offering to do a deal by phone and deliver the car but I haven't seen any price reductions. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Rolling with laughter

I sent the 10 Day joke to my neighbour & she sent me the 7 Day joke! Not quite sure if she was hinting at something! Shocked

Is there a reason why the packing tape is upside down?

Optimistic enforcement Censored

What idiot in Wiltshire Police thinks agressive traffic enforcement is OK at a time of national crisis, when traffic is practically non-existant and they particularly need public co-operation in enforcing the lockdown to protect society as a whole. driving on the right side

As part of my on-going design to build external storage, I am designing a universal plate that will allow me to mount many different (not all at the same time) products. This will include 'liquid containers' fuel, water or wine Whistle , water tight case, coal and combustible material.

I already have a BOOBY water tank ...

.... and yes I have two Boobys.... Laughing

jerry can ....

Combustible Material - all metal vented locker

I did not fabricate this, only modified it for my purpose. (Does anyone recognise it ??)

so far so good

Question: I got it nice and smooth with build-up primer and now Im building up the colour base coat prior the lacquer coat. Should I rub down the base coat before the lacquer coat goes on ?

Ive never tackled body work before .

Sorry for the rotated pics Jules

Lifted from another site ...

Get your colour coat so that you have covered your primer and allow to dry.

Use 1500 wet/paper dry and very lightly flat and then use a tack rag across the area.

Now a final colour coat and leave to dry.

Tack rag across area again very lightly.

Laquer as required and dont go mad as you dont want runs now.

If its 1k laquer leave to air dry for a couple of days and then polish.

Stand back and admire work...

Paint takes a week to fully harden. So let it go off for a least 24 hours before using wet & dry, still be gentle but the paint will be harder than rushing in too quickly.

& Clean the entire area of dust so it doesn't settle on the paint before spraying. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
