On a lighter note, we seem to have accumulated 18 ways of serving salt & pepper, all prior to the recent fiasco. What else will we discover in the next 11 weeks, 5 days, 14 hrs, 22 mins?

I'm trying not to murder two small children, while wondering if I'll have a job to go back to when ever that is.

Actually getting on with projects will be nothing but a dream for me, so I'd be grateful if you all could get on with the projects and show the results so I can imagine what I would have won 😂

Just received some Lake Country polishing pads for when I start on machine polishing both of the Freelanders.

Spot of modelling. Took this up years ago as a way of relaxing when I was off for stress. It really helped back then. Got stacks of kits up the shed, not touched in years, but decided to start a few (3) Messerschmitt Bf109 kits and a conversion for a Spitfire Mk.XIV.All in 1/32 scale. Skills are a bit rusty, but it's more for relaxation than for winning any awards.

Unlikely but thanks for the tip.......although I did go to TamTam in Tokyo a few times a while ago, the YEN was very cheap back then and I could justify a trip to Japan to buy a lot of N Gauge Kato railway stuff and come back in profit!

Trouble is , before you know it, a few hours have passed and you look at what you've done and can't see how it's taken that long. Very relaxing indeed.
Airfix. Yep, cut my teeth on them , like so many other kids, back in the 70's. Today, after being bought out by Hornby, the investment has been put in. The kits are now works of art and with a price tag to match !

This is the solvent for styrene models.


& get a Windsor & Newton paint brush, Series 7, size 0 or 1 (smaller is better) 00 or 000 is good for very fine work. The Series 7 brushes are the ones that last in the long run. They are made from Sable tails.

A Menda pump dispenser makes life so much easier. (they block occasionally due to styrene, close the lid & give the top a sharp hit)


The sort of stuff you can make from high density styrene sheet, 0.75mm & 1.0mm mostly. Other than the car & people everything is from scratch.

One of the Messerschmitts I'm working on with get chopped up to make this ^^^!
It used to be a fun, cheap hobby. Not any more .
Just one kit plus this conversion is around £100

A good case for investing in a 3D printer I’d say.........or chances are you may already have one?  Regards

When at secondary school I loved TD and was intent on being an Architect, but then I found girls and discovered they liked having their pictures taken.....I became a Photographer instead  Regards

No time for lockdown projects, still working, ambulance service - little busy at the moment
