To lighten the mood a little during our lockdowns, I thought I'd start up a thread for those who want to share what they are getting up to.

Good idea, and yes.......this troubling time has actually made me start the model rail layout I have been gathering stuff for the past year or more, assembled the boards, and got the track layer out and working (enough for the grandkids to watch Thomas chugging around) so far......next is to instal all the hidden pointmotors then to actually fixing the track permanently.

Thanks for that, I have a lathe and milling attachment but I fear now my days of miniature engineering are gone, I used to adapt and engineer new chassis for my 2mm scale Japanese Locos but degrading dexterity due to heath issues mean if I attempt anything too intricate it’s a complete no no.......hence the use of ready ballasted track with less wiring/soldering to do.

No, it’s an East German machine, about twice the size of Unimat and very substantial, took advice from a mate in our machine shop a good few years ago now. Although sad to say since retiring and moving it is languishing away in the side shed with a slight patina of rust.....slightly ashamed at that admission Regards David Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me...... Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again...... |

My train set is now ornamental and on show in a see through cabinet where a window used to be between my study and the kitchen.

My Z gauge layout which I designed as an exhibition, operated from the back & effectively 2 railways in one layout, 1 clockwise & 1 anticlockwise, so if there is some disaster the other half can keep going.

With the current situation I have time to “rip out” previously fitted InControl Apps. Was initially gutted but as LR deleted the Spotify App, which was my main reason for wanting, there’s no point in having it!
