I am wondering how much I could get by suggesting an alternative method of locking. (i.e. a work-around) What I am thinking is why not put a mechanical lever/latch/bolt in the door, worked by a key, which would engage in the door pillar. Or is it too easy, it used to work in the good old days, and I even had several cars where after a couple of years you didn't even need a key, even a screwdriver would do the trick. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 79k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

^^^ ![]() ![]() ![]() So true! My old Ford Cortina MkIV key would open pretty much any other Ford at the time.....even Granada 2.8i Ghia X's!! Now that was an upgrade one night..... ![]() Please note: no vehicles, people or animals were damaged that night back in the mid-80's, and the car was duly returned to the Landlord of the pub the next day undamaged...... |

Unfortunately it would have to be tested and homologated before release, should take only about ten times longer than the delay ![]() David Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me...... Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again...... |
