I am wondering how much I could get by suggesting an alternative method of locking. (i.e. a work-around) What I am thinking is why not put a mechanical lever/latch/bolt in the door, worked by a key, which would engage in the door pillar. Or is it too easy, it used to work in the good old days, and I even had several cars where after a couple of years you didn't even need a key, even a screwdriver would do the trick. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

^^^ So true! My old Ford Cortina MkIV key would open pretty much any other Ford at the time.....even Granada 2.8i Ghia X's!! Now that was an upgrade one night..... Please note: no vehicles, people or animals were damaged that night back in the mid-80's, and the car was duly returned to the Landlord of the pub the next day undamaged...... |

My Dad had a Wolseley 1500 and the ignition key was in the middle of the walnut dashboard. He used to put a strip

Unfortunately it would have to be tested and homologated before release, should take only about ten times longer than the delay Regards David Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me...... Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again...... |
