Off topic but since we are referencing bees......my FL2's colour is Tambora Flame. Bees like it......I had two fly in, at different times, through the open windows last summer and one started pollinating until I pulled into a lot and ejected said bee politely. What's up with that........ Rolling Eyes ? Rolling Eyes

Here's another couple of pics taken on an unlit track in Snowdonia. I do think both dipped and main beam are significantly improved with these LED bulbs compared to the OEM halogen HB3s (though I never fitted Osram Nightbreakers, so can't comment on performance against those).

Here is a comparison with my old halogens and new LEDs

Halogen dipped

Halogen main

LED dipped beam has a good spread pattern but Im disappointed with the LED main beam - seems to lack distance.

Also I never before noticed how much of a clunk the shutters make - could they be hitting something to do with LED installation I wonder - I'll double check tomorrow.

I rotated the LEDs to the 10 and 2 position at installation. Jules

I think I’d be happy with the original Halogens there.......was the camera setting exactly the same ie manual exposure, same settings? Regards

David

I used my phone to take the pics - they seem pretty representative Jules

Well as you say if they are representative between the bulbs I’d stay with the Halogen bulbs, far better distance on main and seemingly more defined cut off on dip. Regards

David

^^^^^Yes, they are! My model year apparently came with HIDs, the stock colour was ok but I replaced them with I think 6000ks and they are very good and I am rural.

I’m pondering the HIDS

Bob, have you had any issues with the stealth kit?

Nope it's the best mod ive done to this car. Halogen headlights were pathetic, wish I'd done it 2 years ago when I bought it. Thumbs Up

They look a completely different beam pattern and spread to Matts are they the same LED's? If so have you set them right, maybe Matt can come back in and offer some ideas? 2014 Freelander 2 XS TD4

Yes same LEDs as the ones Matt has. Set in the 10 & 2 position.
I'll take some pics with my camera to see if the phone camera is not being fazed by the more intense white light.

I temporarily swapped the halogens back in today just to whilst rechecking the LED positions. The shutters do make a noticeable clunk even with the OEM HB3 bulbs too. I guess I never noticed it with the engine running. Jules
