12 Month Service Approx Cost

Hi All
I have been quoted £325 for a service including Oil, Air, Pollen & Fuel Filters, replacement brake fluid at an independent LR specialist.

Does this seem fair?

Thanks

I guess for London that's an absolute bargain - judging by the price of beer there. Very Happy Jules

The beer is generally cheaper the further north you go.

I've used Prospect in Solihull in the past for servicing. No problems with them

A behind-the-scenes old brick garage near all the bling main dealerships. They do the MOTs and many repairs for the cars that are brought into the local JLR/Merc main dealerships by owners who dont worry about main-dealer prices. They use the OSH as well. Jules

I wonder how much work is subbed out to smaller outfits by over priced garages.

For instance a recon auto box with Torque Converter for £1800 +VAT is done by a smaller company subbed to them by a "specialist company". The original cost for the work quoted by a "specialist company" being around £5000.

I spent 27 years working as a motorcycle grease monkey and would have no qualms about servicing any type of engine but as iv'e got older the thought of crawling around under a car does not appeal so off to our local indie it goes once a year... Job done & worth every penny and lets be honest if you cant afford to look after your Landy then buy a more affordable car.

However I would never let anyone else put a spanner anywhere near one of my bikes Thumbs Up 94 Disco 300 TDI Gone
