The Guys and Girls in the G4 club were a real friendly bunch, had several fun outings with them. Gill my better half is a very quiet and private person, so the meetings were always met with a great deal of anxiety, in the end it was much easier on her to bow out of the meetings - fun I sadly miss.

TBH still missing the G4 FL2, the DS is nice, frugal, and reliable, but it will never be one of only seven, and definitely no-where near as much in your face. Very Happy Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Can't believe they said the petrol wasn't sold here.

Ed, the mechanical contributing author, drives a pre-pro 3.2 FL2!!!

This review was one factor why I bought the Freelander. It has the brilliant Ford 2.0 litre ecoboost 177kW petrol engine. It is a bit thirsty in the city but I not commuting so it's not an issue. https://www.themotorreport.com.au/car-revi...79225.html Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

There are plenty of seriously good F2's on the forum - from fully kitted overlanders, to off roaders to blinged up gangsta rappers vehicles.
What I propose is a few pages singing the praises of our beloved F2's , with pics and captions of a few forum members vehicles to whet the appetite of the readers. Then in later editions, individual owners vehicles getting their own few pages.
That is, of course, if members are interested.
With Muddymods new F2 releases, including a winch bumper bracket, then with more magazine exposure, other manufacturers may follow suit and start producing those accessories we've been dreaming about for all these years.

Lightwater - that's exactly what I'm talking about. Proving the F2 is a viable alternative to the Discos and Defenders always being featured as expedition/overland vehicles.

I'll gladly add myself to the list of enthusiast owners who enjoy travelling with their FL2. I am by no means as kitted out as folks like Lightwater and not as mechanically savvy as some folks on this forum, but definitely a great fan of my 12 year old FL2 that I've lightly upgraded and that I routinely take off the beaten path in Canada. Here's one photo - many more to see at https://www.instagram.com/the_canadian_freelander/ for those interested!

Cheers,

Simon

Maybe people missed it, but in Sept/Oct 2019 LRO did a Freelander special (pictured), which was a 100-page special edition sold separately from the mag.

It was basically a compendium of all the pieces they'd published over the years about the FL1 and FL2 - some a bit out of date now, but a good read all the same...
