Before Xmas the car was fine. After not driving it for a week I now have a clunk when going over bumps.
It is difficult to pin down but seems to be from the front, and most noticeable when the right front wheel hits a bump.
I would say It is a metalic sound.
Obviously I have checked underneath (front and back) and under the bonnet and all seems secure. Heat shields and exhaust are all good.
Before i take it to the local garage, anyone got any ideas?

Without seeing it .....................My money is on the droplink making the noise. Keep us informed of the garage check result.

Thanks for your reply. Yes good tip, I remember seeing the droplinks last time I had the wheels off, and thinking they look flimsy for such a robust car.
I will check them myself tomorrow. Nice easy job if that is the problem.

Checked drop links today, all ok. But then I noticed a loose item on the coil spring lower cup.

The bottom portion of the right front spring looks like it has been broken off for some time and has now worked its way out of its rubber sleeve and was rattling about on the lower spring cup.

I will get a new spring fitted.

SpringS , as best practice is to replace both on same axle.
