Mine is a proper Land Rover (FL2), all the other makes are only 4x4s or SUV's etc. Rolling Eyes

Interesting to see how different terms are understood in different countries. In Norway a 4x4 covers all kinds of 4x4. Suzuki, Kia, Skoda, Porsche Cayenne...... -whatever that has 4x4.

SUV is more refined. Premium if you will. I think the FL2 is a Premium SUV. That sounds much, much better than just saying 4x4.

Jeep is a Jeep. Most people would think of it as a military vehicle. I am afraid the Defender might be mistaken for a Jeep though....

But SUV? Yes, that is a noble tag. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Automatic, Caspian Blue, Alpaca, Moon roof, Exclusive pack.

There are only 2 words that count-Land Rover, 4x4s to the core though I think they did build a small number of 2 wheel drives for the RAF and the Dutch army.[/b] still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

In the UK, as far as the media is concerned, it's always a "gas guzzling 4x4".

Unfortunately they don't seem to have the intelligence to realise that there are plenty of family cars and seven seaters out there pumping out far more CO2, nor do they have any understanding of what good mileage a TD4 does... FL2 TD4 XS manual, XS style pack, Martinique Blue

i agree, my brother and his wife have just got through their car tax notices

His a 2.5l D5 Volvo V50 and hers a 1.6i Volvo C30 both £170 and his co2 was lower than her's
