Last Monday had mine done (7 years and 80K miles). The part numbers on the bill were LR032527 (a complete kit containing the belt, pump, tensioner etc.) and LR000645 (a bolt). |

I had it done by the dealer. I paid about 750 pounds for the belt change alone (no service was needed). Probably a independent would be cheaper but I don't know a independent I trust enough. |

Is a belt change at 7 years/112,000 miles definitely right chaps? Freelanderspecialist.com's breakdown of service intervals reckons 9 years or 135,000 miles for pre-2012 models or 9 years/144,000 miles for post-2012 FL2s.

I had mine done with a service and MOT at main dealer for £558.33 including VAT and a free loan car (plus all the coffee and biscuits I wanted in their plush showroom). J |

Cheers Mikey. Better start saving then, although prices people seem to be paying are not too eye watering thankfully. It'll be going to an indy rather than a dealer though! |

Sounds good, cheers SeeFive. I've been looking for a good indy in my area - not least because the local main dealer, JLR Inchcape Southampton, are ruinously expensive. Will check them out next time I need a service, due early 2020 I think. Might suck it up and get cam belt/water pump changed at the same time too, at least then it's done, right? Car will be 7 yrs old by then and probably still under 60k, but better safe than sorry I suppose. |

Not a particularly hard job to do yourself as long as you get the locking pins with the flywheel lock and you can follow instructions.
