At first there were no PDC overlays but I did have reverse lines and tow hitch assistance. I then remembered I hadn’t cleared the DTCs from before I test fitted a camera so once cleared, I had the overlays. I did worry that as this module originally worked on a medium speed can but interfaced with the PDC on a high speed can (L320 PDC is on the medium speed can), it wouldn’t. The only issue I have is that each camera flashes on/off 3 times before the image settles, I also have a DTC for Calibration req’d. So I reckon once I have all the cameras in place, I can carry out a rough calibration and it should be OK. Obviously a true Cal won’t work as the module is not correct for an L320 so the shut lines will be in the wrong place.

Got 4 cameras working now and only the reverse cam now flashes. As soon as I fitted the left mirror cam the front left and right mirror cam stopped flashing. I’m hoping that if I fit the front right cam, the reverse will also stop flashing. I’ve salvaged the camera brackets from a salvage 2016 Disco bumper to install to the sport bumper. I’ve made a profile template and and a position template around the Disco bumper and tested it against the sport and they are so alike in profile that it will look like a factory fit. Will probably have to get my bumper re-sprayed but I’ve always intended to do that due to some stone chips.

Finally got around to fitting the first Surround Camera Wing mirror, passenger side.
Very happy with the Approach Light which is more of a “Spot” light rather than general illumination of the original Approach lense.

You can choose single or multiple views and whilst you have a good view of what’s happening at the front wheels you can also zoom in and pan for better up close views.

Weather permitting will install the drivers side next weekend. MY15

Drivers door mirror/camera installed and now have full “Kerb View”.

Excuse the bad photos but it night in the garage and pouring rain outside. I’ll try uploading better pic later.

Next job is front bumper cams, HSD lines have already been laid so I supposed I’ll need more cameras Rolling Eyes

I need to interlace this job with another project which I won’t go into now so may be another delay for “Junction View” result but unlike JLR who have the cameras both facing forward I’m planning on a better placement to give me a true “Junction View” space permitting. MY15

Could have used surround cameras last week......we have two entrances to our property, one is an easy private lane the other is the South West Coast path, narrow.....steep.....and a bit “edgey” Shocked .....anyhoo last week the kids were down for a visit and had their iPace plugged in for a charge, or as I called it after their trip from Norfolk the great depletion Laughing

I took them out to a fun park for the day unfortunately because of the iPace charging we needed to use the SWC path route out, I had forgotten just how narrow it was in places.....and those bloomin’ LR2 side steps don’t arf stick out!

Result....’orrible noise.....embarrassed look.....and carried on regardless, typical English male.....nah nothing wrong here....

Rolling with laughter

Oops.......rather a nasty gash along the side of the step.....could have been worse and oh yes, the do make great “sliders” Wink

 Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Some better pics going down the ROW at the back of my property.

Can clearly see kerbs either side.

Going around the corner

Even though I’ve not done a Cal yet the cameras are in reasonably alignment MY15

Have you tried it while driving? One of mine is Cal’d to the module as it came with it, the other 3 fitted aren’t (last not fitted). When driving the cald and rear one are fine, the left mirror is jittery and the 4th is inside the car so can’t tell yet. I must get and fit the front Disco 4 camera brackets to my bumper.

All 3 are working fine on the move.
The drivers side does the 3 on/off thing from main camera page but then settles when you first activate the option from the FCDIM. I’m assuming once I have the 2 fronts online that should stop. 2 cameras are brand new and the drivers side is a used one.
Need to get a couple more as I’m all out of cameras atm☺️ MY15

As the end of the year is fast approaching I’m keen to get all my projects finished and first cab off the rank is the surround camera system which I’m pleased is fully operational.
First apologies for the pictures as my garage faces West directly into the afternoon sun and my phone/Camera was having a hard time with the glare but you get the idea.
Best of all as I exit my garage into a ROW I’m completely blind to oncoming traffic whereas now I’ll can see around corners as you can see from the pics, VERY useful.

Both front cameras are integrated into the front bumper and can be accessed via the headlights.

All 5 cameras are online and I can choose any 2 and enlarge or select a single camera and enlarge along with “special views” and “proximity views”

that looks incredible Thumbs Up

absolute hats off to you Stuart for achieving it all, its clearly not been as easy as some would think Bow down

but why LR never offered any of the stuff your doing like surround cameras, electric boot etc as options on the later models ill never understand. It would have been a no brainer money maker for them.

Actually that’s quite an easy question to answer.
In the case of the surround camera system the most logical reason they didn’t offer it on the MY13 facelift is the cost to redesign the plug system which allows the electrical to get through the front doors to the door modules. Because of the design, which really goes back pre 2007 there was no allowance to pass the HSD lines through without a complete redesign of plugs and door frames. I know this as I had to come up with an alternative solution, which I did ☺️
Even though L359 has the hardware and software some things were not feasible to change mid life.
But for me just means scratching the head and coming up with a work around. MY15
