Simple answer is no IMO. You are wasting good money buying one.

When I bought my pre-owned 2008 LR2 in December last year, it came with one installed by the previous owner. I also have a LR paper filter that I bought for when I clean the K & N. Because the K & N is an oiled filter, it could foul the MAF so keep a can of MAF cleaner handy and oil the K & N carefully, both, very easy jobs BTW. My butt dyno observation , is that throttle response is better. As for any other benefits, I don't think so.

Simple answer is you are wasting money . Save K and N filters for what they are designed for , giving more airflow to tuned engines . I’ve had them fitted as part of a tune up on bikes with DynoJet or Power Commander kits and decat exhausts . Cleaning, drying and oiling them is a bind compared with swapping a paper cartridge filter . You might find that you get a bit more induction noise but performance gain ? Nothing you could measure , we are talking about a 2.2 diesel not an Ariel Atom or KTM XBow so why even bother ? . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Thank heaven for sensible thinking, most forums would be “oh yeah gave me another 15HP and made the car feel like a Lambo”
