Do you want to add another 7mm layer by gluing it?

I have searched on the web with the hope of finding an LR spare part but I didn't find anything, but then I thought that Grue did well that he built it and certainly saved some money .

These folks - https://www.carinsulation.co.uk/index.aspx...=GlassMAT+ - do a range of foil backed and plain foam in a range of thicknesses. Perhaps worth a try? |

On some English sites by serious dealers and known, the isolator engine cover costs about 54 Euros including taxes and excluding shipping.

I used an IR thermometer to measure the temperature of the top of the engine with the cover off after a ten mile run and it was in the range 60 to 80 degrees, depending on exactly where the thermometer was pointing. I have just used some of the 10mm UKLiner sold by Car Insulation (see my link above) which they say is good for 130 degrees to replace the disintegrating original foam. I’ll be doing a couple of longish runs next week and I’ll take the cover off after that and see how it performed.
