Remember that just because you have had no problems up to now doesn't mean that you won't in the future and in fact as the car ages you are more likely to have problems. I have had FL2s with some expensive problems and wouldn't consider owning one now without an extended warranty. You don't have to have much of a problem to burn through the annual fee. At the end of the day it's about being able to sleep at night and what problem I had had with LR have always been fixed without quibble. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Decided to take out extended warranty after all, just had a reminder how things can go wrong. I have the infamous tailgate locking issues including it unlocking while driving with my dog in the back. It’s going in tomorrow for investigation 4 weeks before my existing 2 year warranty runs out. 64 plate TD4 SE

I checked and can confirm that all LR Approved Used Car Warranties have been reduced from 2 years to 1 year as someone indicated on this forum previously.

The very good 2 year warranty was a deciding factor in choosing LR over other makes, not so now.

Same for Jaguar I understand, my daughter's boyfriend took delivery of an approved used Jaguar XF last Friday (to replace the one he wrote off) with two years warranty one day before the rule change.

Since you were paying for the extra year anyway in the selling price the rationale might be that you can always buy an extra year's warranty but the selling price of the car will be lower. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
