Hide key in the (dry) sand instead. Obviously somewhere you can find it again!

They don't like water, I accidentally got mine wet (very wet) and ended up having to get a new key.

I could be wrong but I think the earlier (> 2012) are waterproof as they are a sealed unit, but the later keyless ignition fobs aren't.

I doubt if they are as they can be split in half

they aren't actually meant to be split in half though, if/when the fob battery dies or the fob fails then LR expect you to go back to them and spend Ā£200+ on a new one off them.

Lakeland freezerbags work really well, ziplock type, buy the very small version and use one within the other for double security.

People we know who regularly go kayaking use them and had no problems, other neighbours had bought Ā£20 ā€œswimming bagsā€ and were fine also.......pays your money etc etc. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Put it in a condom and tie up the open end and stuff it down your trunks. Condom can be re-used after for another purpose!
