How did you go with yours mate? Mine just arrived in post.

Youtube video for the install seems easy enough, but the actual using of it seems to be a fair amount of 'figure it out yourself' rather than any instructions!

Mixed results really. I managed to get it working using windows 98. As you say the actual using of it is a matter of cautiously feeling your way around i
not get a u tube clip for install. Where did you find that?
One tip it sucks battery power, make sure you have a good battery charger or power source connected. Let me know how you get on.

Mine came with v154 software:

Got it for just over 60quid, which is less than a dealer wanted to code my new key fob. If that's all i can get it to do then it's already paid for itself!

I'll update here with what I figure out.

So new key is programmed! Very Happy Took all of 5mins.

Pretty straight forward, just a matter of following promts. It's basically:
Tell program how many keys you have (both programmed and unprogrammed)
Insert programmed key, ignition on/off, remove.
Insert non programmed key, spits it out, starts programming window, insert non programmed and it won't spit it out, ignition on, off etc.
You now have 2 keys that work. This does the remote locking buttons as well as the imobilizer and starting.

Looking forward to seeing what else is in here, but it all looks pretty straight forward. Can do a How To if anyone wants, but it really is as simple as following the promts on screen.

Was faffing around in the car last night as the frost was forming and fired up the laptop to see what options I could play with. Was going to delve into a couple and it told me no, the car battery is below the safe threshold for any programming. (But still enough juice to start the car).

Was my fault as had key in ignition for a few hours and doors open etc draining the battery - thought it was real handy that it won't let you do anything in that situation. Would imagine running out of battery mid programming would not make for a fun filled evening.

How did your reversing mirror tilt work out thehelper?

I installed the factory tow package and I've been looking for a way to enable the factory trailer option in the CCF. Will this allow me to do that?

I believe that's one of the modules that thehelper has enabled on his. I've definitely seen the option in there yes.

Sorry p_gill, went out in the ice and the dark last night to have a look for you, but won't let me into the deep CCF without laptop being on mains power. Wasn't really in the mood for running extention cables Laughing

On the other hand, have changed my dash info to display in km rather than miles (import from UK). This km/l instead of MPG is going to take a bit of getting used to through Neutral

I'm trying to get a laptop figured out but aside from using them, it's really not my area of expertise. I have an old Samsung which I plan on using but it has Windows 10 64 bit loaded. Apparently, since I have the license code for that version of Windows I also have access to a 32 bit version. Trying that now to see if it will install as a clean version or I might just get the complete setup with lappy included from VXDiag.

Would recommend making a fresh "Land Rover" partition with Windows installed, without anything else on.

Then install the software, plug it into car, let it download any more config files it needs, then freezing the partition with the supplied DeepFreeze program. This should stop any licencing issues occuring with the SDD program (as far as that disk is concerned, it's frozen in time, and changes you make to it will be gone next restart). Not sure if that was all needed, but I followed the Youtube install vid, and that's what they did!

Installed fine on a Windows 7 32bit for me. 40GB partition was enough.
