I am expeirncing similar problems when selecting fifth and sixth, it is as if the stop that normally restricts you going into reverse once the car is moving is not operating properly.

Sounds like a gear selector cable needs adjusting/replacing?

The gap I have shown between 1-3, 2-4 is to illustrate that i actually push the lever to the left when selecting 1,3 but 5,6 feel like they are far to close to 3,4.

The same fault developed on mine after a visit to the dealers to fix the recall, and they came out next day to collect the car and fix the gear fault. Fine now. FL2 TD4 S Baltic Blue, with twin electrics and towbar, roofrails, luggage cover, spare wheel and mudflaps. |

When I got my FL2 back from having the replacement PTC heater fitted, I had a similar problem to the one you described re the gear selection. Fifth and sixth gears were hard to find and the lock to prevent selection of reverse when above 5mph did not work (luckily I didn't find it by mistake ).

I took the car back today & they said sometimes the solenoid is not replaced after the heater recall is done. In our case the solenoid is actually where it should be, just not working.
