England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

loaded mine up on Friday with camping gear and the dog and drove from Mansfield up to Settle for the weekend.

My son was walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks with a large group and I did the support for them which involved loading the roofbox, the boot and the back seats with everybody's spare kit and meeting them at checkpoints so they could change their soggy socks and grab a bite to eat under the shelter of the boot lid. None of them could believe how much kit it swallowed up Laughing but were thankful of the sit down on the boot lip and staying dry

the dog was consigned to the front seat so both front seats, armrests, cubby box, centre console, dash and even the inside of the windscreen are covered in mud.... but it will all wipe clean Very Happy

Played golf and lunched at Gualta Par3, about 50miles south of French border on Costa Brava. 18 holes plus three course lunch with wine...28euro!

Swallowed 4 x 2.4 Mtr lengths of timber inside the car, with the tailgate and windows all closed... they wouldn't fit inside SWMBO's F-Pace, and it's raining bucket loads here!!

Yet another reason I am very happy with my Freelander 2!! Very Happy Lexus RX450H - 500 mile a week commuter- I just couldn’t trust in a newer RRS or DS for that….
2009 Freelander 2 HSE... 155K miles, we’ve done 135k of those, has done brilliantly on the commute and staying firmly put as car two in the household
2002 Jaguar XK8 Coupe... fun, fast, ours for 12 years and owes us nothing - so staying with us too…

Oh great. Dropped my phone on the laptop while trying to answer a call (which I missed anyway) and now see I have posted the same thing twice...

Is there a moderator in the house? Please delete this with my apologies... Embarassed Lexus RX450H - 500 mile a week commuter- I just couldn’t trust in a newer RRS or DS for that….

That’s the issue we found with the F-Pace (apart from really nasty early Enginium NVH issues) the inside is reminiscent of a saloon car not a SUV.....hemmed in rather than open design. Regards

Finally got round to fitting the new alternator pulley I bought about 6 months ago! The one way bearing was seized, as I suspected.

Loaded up the beach clobber, drove 600m to Llafranc on the Costa Brava, had breakfast in the crossanteria on the seafront, three hours on the beach in 22c and read the Daily Torygraph. Drove back 600m to the caravan and then on to the Golf driving range 21miles north at Gualta. Yes, I know it's tough, but someone has to do it.

Yes I know it sounds ridiculous to drive 600m, but unfortunately my wife has secondary breast cancer that has re-appeared in the spine, and she can't walk further than a hundred meters without pain. Also there's a difference of 100m in elevation in that short distance. It's not all bad; we're playing golf tomorrow with the aid of mini golf buggy, and I do her drives off the tee, and she does the pitches and putts. Just like at home except it's sunny and warm!
