I think you can by grinding a small relief on the rear of the flange. It’s only one nut to remove though...

Im pretty sure yours can as the flange is small. Late models had an enormous flange which must be removed to get the pump out. https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic32290.html?highlight=flange Jules |

The Gen 4 is Ok, it's the gen 3 that was a problem.

Sorry MJ that flange on the video is very different to the one on my 2014 FL2 which has a huge flange making removal of pump impossible without removing the flange, which is also difficult to remove because of its depth.

It takes only a few minutes to remove the prop and flange from the Haldex, and makes access to the filter much easier, as well as allowing the pump to come out |

My January 2010 Gen 4 Haldex has the smaller flange which is easy to remove in a vice - never done it on the car.

removed the fb6 15 amp fuse in boot fuse box then loop single wire from live side of fuse fb6 holder to the switch then onto a inline fuse holder then fitted a 5amp fuse as reccomended as the 15amp to much for the haldex . then fit wire back to the other side of fuse holder fb6. and yes when haldex switched off the transmission fault does come on dash |

Personally, I think it is inevitable that it will get gunked up at some point (it's when, not if)
