You can see crud and emulsified oil in the pump housing and in the main bearing

There are also 2 x roller bearings.

The next thing I did was to remove the 2 x socket head bolts holding on the ECU and then removed the ECU.

If you haven't already done so, remove the filter element.

You should also remove the piston at this point
