What did you use to stop the haldex shaft from counter rotating when undoing the nut ?

I removed mine with the Haldex out so I just held the flange in a vice (wrapped in a towel as I don't have any soft jaws for my big vice) |

Did your haldex service include filter change as well as oil change and how was the old oil removed ?

Think you need to contact him. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Yeah... I'm aware these can deteriorate quickly. Kind of reluctant to ring him if it's a normal condition for 10k miles / 2 years old. Otherwise I'm basically suggesting it wasn't changed

Pretty sure when I changed my Haldex oil and filter, the oil was black. Your oil looks very clear apart from some bits in it so I'm wondering if that's a sign of something starting to break up? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

To be fair the oil was pretty black when the jug was full, there's only 1cm in the bottom of the jug there against a white background. Not sure about break-up. The bits are not solids, they disintegrate on squeezing. Even so, not what I was expecting to see.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already somewhere, but I've not been able to spot it.... What is the best chemical to clean the internals of the Haldex unit once removed from the car? G101? Parafin? Petrol? Brake Disc Cleaner? Are any of the internal components likely to be affected by strong degreasers? |

Another rear diff and Haldex looked at today. 87000 miles before it had to be done. The noise got even louder on the way down there. Well worth it ! |
