I’ve bit the bullet and put a deposit down for one to replace the Velar. I love the look of the SWB but for practicality it will be the LWB. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Must be a joint venture? Not like LR to let someone else use their name. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Not only would Land Rover do everything in their power to stop this being sold (it would never be done as a JV), but when the original finished it was already at the raggedy end of what was legal. A lot of what they got away with was based upon “grandfather rights”, on the basis of it having been in continuous production for so long. None of these loopholes would be available if production were to restart.

I read another article on this Polish Defender - think the extract below clarifies how they think they can get away with making a 'new' old Defender

... This can be done for 90, 110, and 130 wheelbases, and Koval says that if you bring him your identification and a set of Defender license plates, the company can recreate your truck from scratch....

Do you really need the space in a 110 that often if you have no kids etc? If not then go for the 90 IMO.

My brother had a 300 tdi 90 then replaced that with a TD5 110 and the difference in size was vast although the interior space wasnt that much bigger than the 90

I’m looking forward to it, as much as I love my Velar I have missed the big boxy LRs. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
