All our prototypes were delivered in enclosed trucks, never on open frame carriers with canvas covers, too tempting if left while the driver stops for dinner/sleep/poop and easy to remove covers for naughty spy type people |

Prototypes not being used on open uk roads now are hidden in OnTime trucks. The chasing pack follow from Whitley/Gaydon all the way down to Southampton or across to Harwich in the feint hope of capturing "the" photo, but to little avail.

Rear wheel geometry looks a bit odd on the SWB version, seems to be very close to the rear wheel arch forward section, hopefully a LR buck on a Suzuki Jeep Chassis |

Was thinking along the same line, Pics 4&5 look particularly "decoy" to me. |

I am not sure about the actual rear suspension layout, but is the wheel being pulled forward as it extends (due to short trailing link) Otherwise the short wheelbase version appears the same as in earlier 'spy' photos. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 79k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

I’d be very surprised if they made a suspension which has so much extension to make such a difference to wheelbase in service......maybe they had some old Triumph ride and handling engineers left in a cupboard somewhere? |

Nail on head, and oh so spot-on with that observation.
