Big cat in Dartmoor

Interesting that a cast of the paw print has been taken and dogs have suffered injuries.

I’ve just been reading this,I’ve been convinced big cats of various types are out in the wild for a long time.

You can take the Censored but I've seen one up close 14 years ago June 2005 - about 30ft away. Not just me but there were several of us and the thing took off like lightning when it saw us. Years later, staying at a guest house, less than 1/2 a mile from my sighting, I asked the Landlady whether there had been any reports of big cats in the area. When she asked why I enquired , I told her what I had seen. She immediately called her husband and when he came, she asked me to relay my story to him. Why ? Because he had told his wife a similar story months before but she just laughed it off as him being stupid.
You can see the Quantock Hills from where we stay. There have been several sightings on the Quantocks and there have been some pictures. There was even a conference held in Watchet regarding the sightings on the Quantocks back in 2008.
Also last year, while at work, I spoke to one of our tenants, whom I overheard, telling someone about the Dangerous Wild Animals Act of 1976. I took him into the office and grilled him on the subject. The tenant told me was the son of someone famous in the 1970's ( I won't say who) who owned several big cats and chimpanzees along with other exotic animals. The tenant showed me a picture of his father walking a Lion down the street and also with a Chimp in one of the nightclubs in Birmingham, back in the 70's. The tenant told me how, when the Act of 1976 came in, his father, along with a friend (Mary Chipperfield) let some cats go.
I talked to his guy for around an hour, he had no reason to lie , he never had to stop and think about what he was saying, and he was so happy to openly speak about his father and relay his story to me , as someone who actually believed him, having seen a big cat myself as all his adult life he faced ridicule from people he spoke to about what his father had done whenever the "big cats" subject came up.
The trouble with sceptics is that unless they see something for themselves , you'll never convince them otherwise. Narrow minded Censored . I know what I saw back in 2005, it's a sight I'll never forget. No amount of scepticism or ridicule will ever take that night away from me. I was there, I saw it, it happened.

^ We are a stone throw from the Peak District so lots of rural areas and my dad saw one years ago. Ideal environment for them to breed and hunt. Sheep, deer, foxes and cows are just some of the potential prey.

Wales 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Firenze Red

One was shot up on the beacons back in '93 but was kept quiet due to public safety. FACT!.

So many had these things as pets then just dumped them that some have bound to survived, met and bred.

Much prefer the story about the RHINO poacher who was trampled by ELEPHANTS then ate by LIONS. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Karma Thumbs Up

Sheep If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

for me, the big cats roaming UK are a bit like Martians and little green aliens..... just because you haven't seen them you would have to be pretty naïve to completely rule out their existence Whistle

I strongly believe in both and I also believe in Karma..... wildlife 1 poachers 0 Very Happy
