2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tambora Flame

Intermittent jurk/misfire

Hi folks I have a problem I hope you can help with.
I have a 2007 freelander 2 2.2tdi
Its developed an intermittent jurk like a misfire sometimes
I don't do it for days then other times it does it a few times a day usually when accelerating never cuts out and no warning lights or messages.
I have gone through the forum posts but from what I'm reading nobody actually knows what causes it and seem to change things until it gos
I don't really want to be changing parts that don't need changing.
Anyone know what it is

I suggest you need to get the car Fault Codes read, without that you are in the dark. Of course unless it's something obvious.

Your first step will be to get any fault codes read. Asking a question like that isn't going to get you very far. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

Could be the CKP sensor.

If it feels as if the ignition has been momentarily interupted, then almost certainly it will be a faulty CPS (crank position sensor). (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

excuse me for asking but I suppose you are aware that not all faults are flagged up on the dashboard? We are referring to plugging into the diagnostic socket and reading the codes. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

If it is the CPS I suggest you get a genuine part. I got one off E bay it had to go in the bin.

mine did this, it was a pin hole in the pipe to the throttle body.

JJ456 - did the Crank sensor you got sort the problem?
