I have a high frequency of transmission faults when driving. It can also be triggered when increasing the RPM while driving. There is also a thump/dunk-noise from the rear, haldex or rear-diff?

Anyways I am not savy enough to fix this my self, so I have booked service at the autoshop.

But if I will need a new haldex or rear-diff, where could I buy it ? I would rather buy it myself, it is ok for the autoshop.

Any suggestions, UK, Europe or other places will consider anything, Norway is to expensive

The best people to speak with are Bell Engineering (bellengineering.co.uk) as they are the experts in all things transmission related for a Freelander and they recondition diffs and Haldex units as well. Not sure if they ship overseas but certainly worth speaking to them! Good luck!

The trouble with supplying your own parts for fitting is that if there is ever any problem, you’ll be bounced back and forth between supplier and fitter with each blaming the other. Even if the garage is not liable and it turns out to be a faulty part, you’ll still be liable for the labour element and will have to try to claim that back from the parts supplier. If someone diagnoses, supplies and fits the part and it goes wrong within the warranty period, it’s all their problem! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
