OK......investigated the earth lead, looks OK but removed cleaned the contact areas and replaced with some copaslip for good measure.

Thanks, I had thought the starter might be an issue, I have exhausted all my 1970’s technical expertise

Yes, a bit of a ball ache , needs to be jacked up and placed on axle stands. However, it's not that time consuming. I had mine done in less than 1/2 hour , so if you need to take it to a garage, it shouldn't be too expensive. |

Problem is it needs to be towed/recovered to get there........I'll sort something out, eventually Regards

OK I gave in after testing the battery again over a couple of days, 2 hours after charge it reads 12.8 volts or there about, after considerably longer it reads 12.2 volts.........sitting in the vehicle with ign on and BMS being read it reads just 11.8 volts......this battery is long gone I think.

Relay and fuse swapped and also checked, both functioning fine.......but starter relay doesn’t seem to “click” when ign/starter sequence is initiated.

Took the starter relay out and jumped the main terminals with a link and the starter motor turned the engine over very healthily, but the engine will not start with ign on.
