Stone retention, source of noise?

Due to, Pam's hearing problem, I have fitted the new, Dunlop, Sport, Maxx, RT2 SUV, on the front and I have, Pirelli Scorpion, on the rear that were on the car when I got it and with to much tread left to change. What I've noticed is that the, Scorpion, have a lot of stones impeded in the tread, where as the, Dunlop have none as you can see by the pictures. I wonder if this makes the tyre noiser than the level they say they are. I can confirm that the, Dunlop, are considerably quieter. Dunlop are on the top.

To be honest I'd expect those stones to make quite a high pitched clicking rather than anything particularly audible in the cabin. I've heard stones (the red chuckie type) stuck in my tread before and if the window is down and you're going slowly, is 5-10mph you can hear it click click click before it pops out. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

Bob your getting worse Very Happy

I've got Pirelli Scorpion's on mine and they do pickup a lot of stones, as to noise a friend asked if it was an electric car as it was so quiet Shocked put it in sport and floored it...no longer quiet Laughing Common sense isn't very common.
