Kris, your profile suggests you have a 2008 SD4? Happy to be corrected, but I thought that engine was introduced in late 2010?

correct... late 2010 for the major exterior facelift and a few tweaks inside and then late 2012 for the major interior upgrade with a few tweaks outside (lights) general opinion is to go for 2013 onwards SD4 Auto but its down to personal preference and budget. |

I changed my halogen bulbs to Osram Nightbreakers, which is a common cheap and easy upgrade for your headlights. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

Don't forget the dreaded 2011 hesitation problem with (some) early facelifts. There is a whole thread on it. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Yes, I’ve done that on most cars including the FL2, but having decided to wait for the old bulbs to fail before replacing them with Nightbreakers, I was really surprised just how much longer the standard bulbs lasted in comparison! ...And that is despite having the car set to “Scandinavian” mode with the headlights always on! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto Previously: 2010 MY FL2 TD4e GS - Now gone at 199,500 miles, about 135,000 of them mine. ‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW ‘87 Defender 90 4 cyl Petrol ‘83 110 CSW V8 - best ever! Sorry not quite sure why I put sd4 at its just the normal td4. With regards to xenons then I'll buy some spare normal units and retrofit projectors and hid kits if retro fitting std xenons are no good. |
