I'm on my second freel2 now and have done the same mod. to this one. ..it makes such a difference on dark winter nights! Only takes about half hour to install. ..

I'm certainly doing this mod.. is there anyway to easily distinguish between the + and - cables? Also, any detailed photos of where you made the connections?

Thanks in advance Smile

I can't believe this is the first post I've seen that effectively addresses this design problem with a clean mod! Just received the upgraded dome light panel with the built-in map lights and was planning to install over the back seat, and now am going to add the LEDs to the cargo hatch area. Anybody find a 12v socket to fit where the original crappy light is on the side?

Great idea, I might actually want to go to Ikea now the next time my wife suggests it! Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

That's obviously the difference across the country - up north you get sheep in store, down here in London it's just the locals shuffling round in their pyjamas or trackie pants, their Primark Uggs and with screaming child in tow Wink

You can order from Ikea on-line these days - so no need to suffer all that stress.

LED lights will cost £31 inc delivery

You have to select the emitting colour.
Which is the warm white & bright white (W, WM or NW) ? Jules

If you put one of each in your basket it tells you what colour they are. You can then delete which ones you don't want.
W= White
NW = Natural White
WM = Warm White
I guess you've already figured that out though?

Edited: As wil said wm not ww

This thread reminds me of a similar mod I did to my FL1. way back in 2000.

The 3Dr variant did not come with an interior lamp by the rear view mirror.

I fitted a swivel lamp and switch (note modified logo on switch face LH)

I further fitted a better positioned and switchable lamp to the rear load area. The plastic was from the 'original' handbrake console (cut to fit contour) , which came with a 12V connector.

Nothing is 'New' these days .......

.
