The proposed new Defender at c£50 grand is yet another example of LR getting it wrong. There won't be many folk wishing to go seriously off road having spent that sort of money so it will be aimed at Tweedy wives and posers.

I mean come on... also available as a van.... that's got to be a worthy rival to the traditional defender and a hell of a lot more reliable. |

The Disco 5 is available as a VAN, look at the price difference between the Disco 5 base model and the van.

With a drive motor on each wheel traction control would be a doddle and no need for heavy drive trains and axles etc. which will also give the opportunity to use regenerative braking.

A photo has appeared online (twitter) of what seems to be the new Defender dash - not sure if I should post as a LR Comms and PR director has responded to it saying legal team are on the way.
