Hi. I’m looking for any help or advice please. I have a Freelander 2 2011 (although a 60 plate it was one of the first 2011 facelift models). We have had quite a few issues with the car. First needed new clutch and flywheel, then had rear did replaced, but still had a slight whistling noise. Was advised that front transmission needed replacing and thought we’d solved proble. No whistling/ vibrating noise started getting louder and developed a flapping noise in second gear. Everyone telling us it can’t be gearbox because LR gearboxes don’t fail. The problem that I now have is that the car is jumping all over in 1st and 2nd gear so not usable. No one seems able to repair the gearbox because they don’t have the fools (not worth buying because LR gearboxes don’t fail). I can’t get a reconditioned one because there are none available because they don’t fail. BUT mine failed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

We had two manual gearbox problems with FL2s, one in a 10 reg at about 40k and the same in a 2011 reg at about 50k. Both had similar problems in that they wouldn't stay in 5th gear. The first one we sold into the trade and the second was on extended warranty so got rebuilt by a local specialist and paid for by LR. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
