To be honest , I like spare wheels on the back door , much better than underslung which has no place on an off road vehicle . If it is under the rear storage carpet as an alternative , you also have problems. Imagine having to plonk a couple of shotguns and dogs ( for example ) on the hard shoulder of the M62 whilst you extract a spare wheel . The obvious downside is that the cheery little Thieving Pikey chaps could have a field day . Unless of course the mount is a nice big steel job that you can weld a nice big hardened motorcycle security chain to ! And did you learn the Fujitsu song? They are paying me a very good pension so I won't knock them but there needs to be a Landrover version of this.

First time I've heard this. I had better not comment as they pay my pension as well. PS You learn and discover many surprising things on this forum! My son is an Agronomist (agricultural crop consultant) who now works in Kenya but comes back here every year to attend an independent agronomist conference. He was telling me last night that three or four years ago the car park of the hotel would have been like a Freelander convention with 90% of the cars being Freelanders and a few Defenders. This year, not a single Land Rover product was to be seen, it was all Hilux, L200, Navara pickups. Cheaper, good off road, well specified and reliable. I can't see JLR ever getting this market back. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Everyone is getting into dualcabs, even Mercedes Benz. They are taking over down under. The SUV is a fading breed. Land Rover had a dualcad & stopped making it. They will end up being the only manufacturer without one & all they will have to sell is a shopping centre carpark "poodle". Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Quite fancy a Vw Amarok V6 Tdi, Landrover would do well to produce a similar competitor but they could do with it on sale now, not next year ... maybe.... Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
