Thanks for your reply, what do you mean my double locking it? I just press the lock button on the fob once. |

Ah I see, pressing the lock button twice double locks the car and the system goes into shutdown,I believe just one press leaves things active for a while and can cause a battery drain. |

Sounds like the sort of delay I have seen on all of my FL2s on a very cold morning and I don't always see the glowplug light. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Unless it refuses to start on first push of button, even after a short period, then this is normal as the mornings get colder.

What is the temperature when you are getting the delay? If it is a couple of degrees below zero then you will get a "glowplug" delay. If above zero, then I have no idea! |

I thought the absence of a glowplug icon when starting was an optional facility for us NE residents to let us know it was warm outside and no porridge or coat was necessary |

It's happening around freezing temperatures. I shall put it down to the glow plugs operating as the temperatures get lower thank you all for your input.

Strangely this behaviour has completely stopped now and my car is back to starting instantly. |
