That interesting, Thanks Past Master. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

I have had the extended warranty since the original 3 year one ran out, I have had a few things done under warranty over the years, generally good efficient service.

I had a situation a bit like this a couple of years ago and the dealer said that the problem is actually about giving you a loan car from their own stock and they don't have many to lend out. His advice was to call LR Assist and then will book it in at the dealer of your choice they pay for a hire car for you. I did just that with the rear diff problem and I called and said I was worried if the car was OK to drive. A LR Assist guy showed up after an hour or two and we drove around the village and he said yes definite rear diff and took the details. Within an hour I had a phone call saying that it was booked in and a hire car would be waiting for me. When I picked the car up they mentioned that they are under pressure to get it sorted due to the cost of the hire car. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Iāve just had a letter from Land Rover, my āused approvedā warranty runs out at the end of January, theyāve quoted me Ā£640 for extended warranty including MoT insurance. My TD4 SE has only done 22k miles, I do 8/9 k a year, tow a caravan and do a fair bit of mileage in forests ripped apart by rally cars. Looks like a fair offer based on some of the comments on this thread.

I found JLR extended warranty hugely expensive compared to BMW extended warranty and on that basis I've never bothered with it and, touch wood, I've never needed it. Jules |

I was never offered extended warranty, I have had the vehicle five and a half years with under 50K on the clock ( last 2 years out here so you can't go far) apart from service items I have only had to pay ā¬100 for a blown turbo hose. That's 3 years at Ā£640 I've saved less the ā¬100 almost 2 diffs worth my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Bought ours from a Mazda dealership so only came with their own 12 month cover. Asked local LR dealership about taking out some sort of warranty and they came back with some figures not far short of four figures. |

I think Iāll give the LR warranty a miss, take my chances and put the equivalent amount away to cover any unexpected repairs. 64 plate TD4 SE Santorini Black
