Will let you know soon as we plan to drive from Oxfordshire up to Aberdeenshire (540 miles door to door) soon. |

I’d be interested to know. I’ll hazard a guess that it might do slightly better than mine |

I'm a technician for BMW and the new X3 is a nice comfy drive with a stunning interior, the old generations though are not good at all, ride too hard and transfer boxes very common to fail, we change loads of them, the interior is a bit naff too. The 6 pot diesels are lovely though in all of them. |

After a week since I parted with my FL2 I find myself back on this site looking for inspiration. The big issue with the BMW (17 plate 2.0 litre turbo) is the run flat tyres, what an awful ride. Should I part with more loot to give it normal tyres (Pirelli Scorpion ATRs) or look out for a low mileage FL2 SD4 HSE? This would result in a drop of £5K for the week. After a run on a Motorway I have doubts about the steering assist too. I was fighting the steering to make those micro adjustments to keep the car balanced, needless to say the Beemer sales man dint know what I was on about. The wife likes it though!

I’ve run BMW MINI’s with runflats and while they are not quite the work of the devil, changing to conventional tyres is highly unlikely to transform the ride; you’ll likely notice only a bit of difference.
