Aye thanks, I've seen a couple of YouTube vids from Volvo owners. Doesn't look a particularly tricky job. I'll call around for prices as I've just changed the oil and don't want to be losing too much of it! |

At last, a stunningly easy job to carry out! Unlike on the Volvo, I didn't even need to remove the battery. Here's to keeping the engine oil in the actual engine. |

I replaced EVERYTHING that came in the box; both O-rings, the check valve and I even used the new bolts. Such a quick and easy job. |

Paul, I don't really know how many miles before they failed as the engine was a brand new LR fitted motor at 114000. As such I don't know whether the engine was a new full engine with ancillaries or was a new engine less ancillaries that were transferred from the dead engine. Also I don't know how long they've been leaking for . I've had the Freelander for just over 2 years now and noticed the leak last year. I cleaned it up and it took a while to return. I decided to sort it but couldn't find a kit anywhere until recently and sorted it as soon as I got a full dry day off.

I'll be doing this next, my pump is covered in an oil & dust combo............it seems to leak intermittently.
