Leaving the fold yet again

so once again im shifting the FL2 on, im sort of going to miss it but with over 70k on the clock now (not particularly high I know) ive been tempted back into the Ewok and its cheaper running costs.

picking up a 61 plate Prestige Coupe today, Indus Silver with 19'' black style 5 alloys, black grill, black mirrors and privacy with 46k and FLRSH, 3 years full warranty and 3 years service plan for a shade under 17k (non LR dealer)

I no longer need the 5 doors, 33mpg and £250 tax and the Ewok is immaculate in every sense of the word.

and yes ill still be gobbing off on here from time to time Very Happy

Had 1 before, 5 door Pure spec with around 80k on clock from LR Approved, loved it but it turned out to be an accident damaged wreck.

this one doesn't even look as if its been sat in and it has a stack of receipts with it from LR Hull

You are changing to an older car?, apart from the road tax I cant imagine the running costs will be significantly cheaper.

for an older car the condition is outstanding throughout and it will have a personal plate on anyway
road tax is £155 instead of £250
mpg from experience is comfortably 40+ instead of 33 I currently get.

servicing is the same as the FL2 obviously but having bought their service plan for £600/3 years im not bothered about service costs.

im sure I will enjoy it as I loved the drive in my previous Ewok. Very Happy

My Velar has turned out to be a lemon, it’s in the dealers with EGR issues so I’ll be looking around at the end of the year. XC60 seems to be topping my list. I do love the Velar so I’ll see how the rest of the year goes. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

that's not good on a 50 grand car... JLR really need to get their fingers out if they want to justify a high premium brand asking price.

a friend recently changed from a 2010 D4 HSE which he loved, into a brand new XC90 R-Dynamic... both him and his wife hate it.
the autonomous systems keep taking over when there is no requirement, they have disabled as much of them as possible between themselves and the dealer but they still keep kicking in when least expected.

he also says its completely soul less to drive and nowhere near as good as the D4, so he is thinking of going to a newer style RRS in 2 years time.

Hope you get yours sorted J77

LR is the only manufacturer that ticks all the boxes for me. So it’s a tough one. I’ve had it fairly easy as regards to troubles with my LR ownership, it’s only the second time in 11 years I’ve had to phone LR Assist, who this time were useless, not the techs but the call centre. I suppose it’s unfair not to take my share of issues like other owners Laughing

Anyway back to your Evoque, the Prestige is a nice spec, I remember test driving a prestige coupe at launch but budget only allowed me a 5dr Pure which at £29k seems like a bargain now.

It’s hard to believe it’s been out 7 years. The crowds it drew in car parks were unreal. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Ed - we all know the Ewok is just a FL2 in a mini dress so technically its the still a FL Rolling with laughter pics will follow once ive got it later today. Thumbs Up

j77 - yes prestige is a nice spec, 'better' leather than pure, F/R sensors, Nav, Camera, auto lights/wipers , electric memory seats, rear camera. The only tick boxes on the wish list would have been auto and pan roof. But as ive said, the history and condition of this one outweighed those 2 wishes. It was sold approved used by Hatfields in Hull in 2015 for 28k but has only done 18k since then. LR serviced and replaced discs/pads 3k miles ago. So it seems like an absolute bargain based on all that and ive always hankered after a coupe version.

RogB - all the best with the new (to you) motor. Life is to short to stay still if something doesn't work for you anymore.
A change is as good as a rest as the saying goes - surprised the Ewok is that different running cost wise though, always thought they would be much the same.

slightly lighter cars due to bodywork and this one is manual where my FL2 is auto. The Ewok auto is similar running costs to the Fl2 auto I believe.
