Rattling sound left front wheel

Since a few weeks I notice a rattling/ticking sound on my front left wheel when turning. It sounds a bit like there is a small stick or branch touching the wheel spokes (checked,,, but this isn't the issue Wink ). Seems to be more present turning right.
Anyone ever had something similar or could point me in the right direction ?

I would jack that side up and rock the wheel top to bottom and side to side and see if there is any movement.

Rattles know to come from behind the wing air vent. Take out vent and tighten the fixings etc behind it. Worth a try if you can't find anything else. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Check it is not a seized front brake calliper. To test, check for a hot wheel after a fast run. Warning! May be very hot!

I’m also getting a slight rattle / squeaking noise from front suspension area. But on both sides. When going over any rough bit of road. Only noticeable when front windows are open as they have been recently , I was going to start a thread on here for suggestions what might be causing it? Will look at side vents but to me it sounds like a suspension related noise? Only 30k miles so not worn much I’d guess. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Hi Bobupndown. The rattle I hear is really coming from my wheel and not the suspension. I know the suspension squeaking noise as well Wink The sound I'm hearing is really like a branch touching a spoke (more a ticking sound I guess)

Have you looked for wear on the anti roll bar linkage. This causes knocking when turning at low speed normally near side goes first due to drains etc. Cheep to fix made mine so much quieter. MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)

Am I missing something? does this not sound like a CV type noise.

Good point rusper but not a failure that seems to crop up on these cars. Worth adding to the list of checks. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I've known people have this on other 4 x 4s and it has been a small stone stuck between the disc and the back plate. Although this has not lasted weeks, it is worth a check.

Sorry, just noticed you said its only happening when turning, so unlikely to be this. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Short update on the issue..
After checking some of the suggested possibilities for the rattling noise, I brought the FL to LR. It took them a couple of days... outcome is they can't find any issues. During the test drive, the sound was not really present, only slightly and not constant... Asked them to check the CV joint.. But they couldn't find any problems. Advise from their side is to wait and see if the sound comes back, under what circumstances ...
