I would jack that side up and rock the wheel top to bottom and side to side and see if there is any movement. |

Rattles know to come from behind the wing air vent. Take out vent and tighten the fixings etc behind it. Worth a try if you can't find anything else. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Check it is not a seized front brake calliper. To test, check for a hot wheel after a fast run. Warning! May be very hot!

I’m also getting a slight rattle / squeaking noise from front suspension area. But on both sides. When going over any rough bit of road. Only noticeable when front windows are open as they have been recently , I was going to start a thread on here for suggestions what might be causing it? Will look at side vents but to me it sounds like a suspension related noise? Only 30k miles so not worn much I’d guess. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Hi Bobupndown. The rattle I hear is really coming from my wheel and not the suspension. I know the suspension squeaking noise as well The sound I'm hearing is really like a branch touching a spoke (more a ticking sound I guess) |

Have you looked for wear on the anti roll bar linkage. This causes knocking when turning at low speed normally near side goes first due to drains etc. Cheep to fix made mine so much quieter. MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)

I had a rattle & It took me weeks to find it, turned out to be what “York Bob” has suggested. Last edited by Jack frost on 7th Jul 2018 9:33 am. Edited 4 times in total |

Am I missing something? does this not sound like a CV type noise. |

Good point rusper but not a failure that seems to crop up on these cars. Worth adding to the list of checks. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I've known people have this on other 4 x 4s and it has been a small stone stuck between the disc and the back plate. Although this has not lasted weeks, it is worth a check.
