The Germans are out, so? Can anyone, part from the Germans themselves really say they support them, or want to see them win. They've had a pretty poor season but usually can be expected to come good at championships. Clearly the miserable form continues. They scraped through their last game with a last minute goal . . . .enough said.

So a much changed England side lose but is it a blessing in disguise? Much has been made of the fact that if we get past Colombia, we get either Switzerland or Sweden in the QF and avoid Brazil. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

That match was worth watching just to see the goal celebration where the Belgium player kicked the ball into his own face.

Was travelling but Radio 5 live suggested it was pretty dire. Seems Spain's pass count was something like 1120 compared to Russia's 280. Spain it seems spent most of the time going sideways or backwards due to lack of thought and desire. They said Russia were playing for penalties from about the 15 minute mark . . . and clearly it paid off for them. It's been suggested FIFA would welcome a Russia v Switzerland final - despite them being in different halves of the draw one of the pundits said that shouldn't stop FIFA / Putin, especially with Blatter being in town as Vlads guest, even though he's supposedly banned from all football related activities at present. Has some diplomatic immunity, like Boris Bankrupt Becker? And then of course there's Ronaldo and Portugal |

This ref is shocking. Not clamping down on Columbia properly and that should have been a red card. Thug like behaviour! LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I suppose pinching the Colombians bum is OK? I would’ve stuck the nut in him as well. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |
